Alien: Romulus (2024, Fede Álvarez)

Y'know I've never actually watched any of the classic Alien films all the way through... just Prometheus and Covenant. Despite this, I could still tell exactly what the latter half of this movie was trying to accomplish. When they cradled that one rifle, I could just tell. Very unfortunate, as every setpiece, effect, and to a large extent the worldbuilding was expertly handled. It's always the most dissapointing when there's hope, isn't it?
